What is Superworm Frass?

Superworm Frass is a 100% organic, animal safe biostimulant and biofertilizer made up from insect larvae excrement and exoskeletons. This natural and locally sourced product comes from our own Superworm farm, our worms are fed on human grade food, they are chemical and odor free.

The benefits of Superworm Frass

Superworm Frass provides all plant life with a gentle balance of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. This nutrient boost is released slowly and consistently over 3-4 weeks. Superworm Frass is safe for all uses: terrarium, potted plants, transplants, hydroponics, and outdoor. Producing significantly stronger plants, thicker stem growth, larger leaves, and more flowers.      

Superworm Frass contains chitin, a naturally occurring molecule found in the exoskeletons of insects. Chitin triggers a plants natural defense to stop insects eating them, causing them to build cell walls and release natural insecticidal enzymes as a defense. Because our Superworms eat a completely herbivorous diet, Superworm Frass is made entirely from digested plant matter. It includes microbes from the guts of insects which are highly beneficial to helping plants defenses against fungal gnats, root feeding nematodes and pathogens in the soil.

How to use Superworm Frass 

There are several application methods that can be used.

1. Dip the roots of plants into Superworm Frass before planting.
2. Mix Superworm Frass directly into the soil for planting. Ratio: Mix approximately 2 tablespoons of dry frass to every Quart of soil.
3. Soak the frass in water, shake well, and strain to create a nutrient packed frass ‘tea’ for watering your plants. Re-apply every 3-4 weeks. Ratio: Mix 2 tablespoons of dry frass to 1 Quart of water.
